DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES

 

Business Management has gained currency among the top notch professions, the world over. Its significance is recognized in the past decades of implementation of economic reforms. Sir C R Reddy College – Society started the two – year fulltime Master of Business Administration (MBA ) Programme with the permission from the Government of Andhra Pradesh in the academic year 1985-1986. Thus, sir C R Reddy College PG Management studies has the unique distinction of being the first to offer MBA programme in affiliated colleges of Andhra University area. The seeds for the growth of the institutions were sown in January 1986, when the MBA programme was added to M.Com course in the PG Department of Commerce. Sir C R Reddy College PG Management Studies has come into independent existence with the bifurcation of the Department by the Management in March, 1991. It has thus to its credit 30 years of committed services to the cause of Management Education.

Thus,  Sir C R Reddy College PG Management studies has the unique distinction of being the first to offer MBA programme in affiliated colleges of Andhra University area. The seeds for the growth of the institutions were sown in January 1986, when the MBA programme was added to M.Com course in the PG Department of Commerce. Sir C R Reddy College PG Management Studies has come into independent existence with the bifurcation of the Department by the Management in March, 1991. It has thus to its credit 3 7  years of committed services to the cause of Management Education. With the grant of Autonomy by Adi Kavi Nannaya University, Rajamahendravaram in 2020-21, the Department has revised the syllabus upto 20 per cent to suit the industry needs thereby making the students more employable. 

Visions & Mission

            With the motto of ‘inspiring young minds for excellence’, the department envisions “to become the leading business school offering effective teaching, training and consultancy services in this part of the state’.

            Our mission: is ‘to impart relevant management concepts and skills to the eligible graduates enabling them to seek employment in industry and business by providing them the needed training’. The MBA programme offered by the institute is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajamahendravaram from 2016-17 onwards.

The MBA Programme offered at the Department aims at the following objectives.

DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS

Ø  Department of PG Management Studies(MBA) was the first affiliated college in the Andhra University Area

Ø  Experienced, Enriched and excellent faculty at Doctorate level

Ø  The Department having about 100% student pass percentage every year

Ø  The Department has collaborated with various colleges and universities under “Academic Collaboration“ viz., KL University, Sri Y.N.College, Lakkireddy Balireddy College.

Ø  Employability skills through certificate courses and workshops

Ø  Placements through campus interviews

Ø  Department has organized Two-Day National Seminar “Indian Economic Turnaround: Challenges and Prospects” on 9^th – 10^th February 2017 in collaboration with UG and PG Dept. of Commerce, .

Ø  As part of the Internship programme, the department is maintaining the academic contacts and guidance with around 20 industries. 

Ø  MBA students participated in National Women Parliament from 10-2-2017 to 12-2-2017 organized by Government of Andhra Pradesh at Amaravathi.

Ø  Students participated in various National Seminars, Workshops, Classroom Seminars, Management Meets etc.,

Ø  02 Faculty members  obtained Doctartes during the period 2016-21.

Ø  Four (04) faculty members applied for Guideship under Adikavi Nannaya University for the approval to guide Research Scholar.

Ø  Application for 03 Major Research Projects were submitted to ICSSR, New Delhi

Ø  A seed money of Rs.75,000/- (sixty five thousand) is instituted by the college management. This seed is allotted to 03 research projects (01 faculty and 02 students).

Ø  A seed money of Rs.1,50,000/- (one lakh fifty thousands) is instituted by RUSA 2.0. This seed is allotted to 02 research projects (02 faculty members).
